There Are Many Photographs On This Page.
Load Time Will Be Longer Than The Other Pages, But It Is Worth The Wait.

The Following photographs were donated from the personal collection of

Neil Greer

Dennis Craker and I went snorkel diving around Grande Island in the Philippines . Dennis built a housing for his camera, so that he could take pictures under water. Here is one shot he took of me. We came across an octopus

Me in the crew’s quarters.

My good friend, Rick Major.

This helicopter hovering over the Virgo’s fantail is either delivering mail or picking up an injured sailor to transport to a hospital.

Jim Brown, and “Hurk”.

In charge of Engineering on the Virgo. A fine officer to have around during emergencies.

Unfortunately, I don’t recall his name. He was a “Mustang” and always knew what had to be done.

I do not recall the names of these two sailors. However, I do recall something the 1st Class Petty Officer once said. It was in frustration, “I will sure be glad when I retire from this Navy!” I asked him how long it was until he could retire, he replied, “Ten years.”

I do not know what was going on here, but it involved wooden chairs.

USS Virgo AE30. The Virgo was equipped with 12 wench deck stations. During underway replenishment my duty was to adjust the wench brakes when the load started slipping. The wench deck station signs 5, 3, 7, and 1 were out of sequence order when this picture was taken. They should read in the sequence order of 7, 5, 3, and 1.

My foul weather jacket.
A little bit faded.
